The grey pallor tones, the larger than usual hands, the gaunt appearance, the head cropped for close immediacy, the title all require the viewer, the SERIOUS viewer, to linger a while, to drink it in and to compare the title with the image--we all have our needs--some parts of the world are much more challenging than others. Bless the artist who can create something like this that provides a tie that can bind.
